<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device that enlarges and displays foreign matter images etc., so that its specifying position becomes the center of a display monitor. <P>SOLUTION: A photographed image of a sample is displayed on the display screen 720 of the display monitor, and the whole image is displayed during detailed screen display. When an enlargement button 723 is operated, an enlarged image of an area 731, including a foreign matter image A in the center, is displayed on the display screen 720. When the enlargement button 723 is operated once more, an enlargement image of an area, including a foreign matter image B in the center, is displayed on the display screen 720.
