PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mother-of-pearl inlay accessory and a sheet article including the mother-of-pearl inlay accessory wherein a mother-of-pearl member as a mother-of-pearl inlay accessory is attached to various kinds of members such as portable telephones, toilet sets, personal effects, clothe, etc., to establish a new field of fashion, so that demand for mother-of-pearl inlay can be increased. SOLUTION: A mother-of-pearl protective layer 3, through which a mother-of- pearl inlay pattern of a planar mother-of-pearl inlay member 2 formed into a predetermined shape can be seen, is superposed closely upon any one of the sides 2a, 2b of the member 2.
