PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer having a layout of optimum radiation fins and cooling fans. SOLUTION: The printer includes a metal member adhered with a thermal head, a heat pipe which is tightly fitted to the metal member, making the direction parallel with the radiation parts arranged linearly to the thermal head as the longitudinal direction, the radiation fins connected to one end of the heat pipe, the cooling fans provided facing a position where the radiation fins and the heat pipe are not connected, an ink sheet coated with ink, and an ink cassette storing the ink sheet. The ink cassette can be attached/detached in a direction parallel with the longitudinal direction of the heat pipe from a side opposite to the side wherein the radiation fins are installed to the printer, and the heat pipe is installed so that the longitudinal direction thereof is made substantially horizontal for use.
