PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radial run out measuring apparatus and a radial run out measuring method, capable of carrying out an RRO measurement in a short time by using a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The radial run out measuring apparatus 10 comprises: a tire turntable 12 on which a rim or a tire/rim assembly is mounted horizontally without the need for any fixing means; a laser distance meter 14 for measuring a distance D from a tire tread surface P while rotating the tire turntable 12; a rotary encoder 16 for measuring a rotation-movement distance L on a tire side part S while rotating the tire turntable 12; and a signal processing device 28 and an analyzing device 30 for computing a radial run out at an arbitrary position on the circumference of a tire from measurement values of respective measuring devices. The tire turntable 12 comprises a rotation shaft 18 having the same diameter as a boss-hole diameter of the rim R.
