<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system to attach a different module easily without using a specialized tool. <P>SOLUTION: Modular component parts are delivered in the condition of being packaged individually but not integrated. A preferred constitution is a base module of a solid ink printer and a second module attached to the base module by the quick connection/quick removal mechanism 500. The connection mechanism 500 includes a hinge and a self-actuated catch.
