A connector is provided with: a first insulator; a plurality of contacts joined to the first insulator so that the front ends of the contacts are exposed at the front of the first insulator and so that the rear ends of the contacts protrude from the rear of the first insulator; insulators for the contacts, the insulators integrally holding the vicinities of the rear ends of the plurality of contacts; ground plates having front ends disposed on a surface of the first insulator and extending along the plurality of contacts, the ground plates also having rear ends disposed on surfaces of the insulators for the contacts; a metallic outer peripheral shell fitted over the first insulator so as to surround the outer peripheries of the front ends of the plurality of contacts and so as to surround the front ends of the ground plates, the outer peripheral shell being electrically connected to the ground plates; and a second insulator formed so as to cover the rear of the first insulator, the rear of the outer peripheral shell, the center portions of the plurality of contacts, and the center portions of the ground plates and so as to expose the rear ends of the plurality of contacts, the insulators for the contacts, and the rear ends of the ground plates. |
