PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus adjustment device with higher speed and higher accuracy when conducting a hybrid AF of a phase difference AF and a contrast AF, specifically in taking a still picture.SOLUTION: Focus adjustment control means is configured to change, upon receiving an instruction to start a focus adjustment operation, a condition for starting a first focus adjustment operation to be conducted before exposure control means and a second focus adjustment operation to be conducted after the exposure control means, according to the reliability of a first focus state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
