PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe installation device capable of readily swinging a rotary excavation body with small force.SOLUTION: A pipe installation device includes a pipe 6 having a square cross-section, a rotary excavation body which is positioned in a front side of an opening 6t at one end of the pipe and rotates around a central line 6x of rotation intersecting with a propelling direction of the pipe, a support device for making the rotary excavation body be supported on the pipe, and driving means. The support device includes: a pair of curved concave surfaces 111 formed from a first pair of inner surfaces that are parallel to each other on a side with the opening at one end of the pipe, to come close to the opening at one end of the pipe and a central line of the pipe; and a curved convex surface 121 formed on a support body and guided by the curved concave surface. The pair of curved concave surfaces is formed by a member that forms an outer peripheral surface within a prescribed range of angles around a central line of a virtual column or elliptic column having the central line orthogonal to a second pair of inner surfaces of the pipe that are parallel to and face each other. The driving means swings the curved convex surface in a direction along the curved concave surface, and the rotary excavation body can swing in a direction orthogonal to the first pair of inner surfaces of the pipe.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
