This invention provides a process for producing a liquid crystal display (LCD) by a liquid crystal dripping method that does not require the use of any special ultraviolet irradiation apparatus and, at the same time, is highly accurate and is simple. The process is a process for producing a liquid crystal display device comprising a liquid crystal layer between a first substrate and a second substrate by a liquid crystal dripping method and is characterized by comprising (a) a step of coating a heat curable resin composition containing an epoxy resin and a latent curing agent and having a gelation time of not more than 3 min at 100°C on a seal area surrounding the peripheral part of the surface of the first substrate, (b) a step of dripping a liquid crystal in a central area on a central side, which is closer to the center than the seal area on the surface of the first substrate, (c) a step of superimposing the second substrate on the first substrate, and (d) a heating step of curing the heat curable resin composition.
|
