A reception comparator for a data transmission system comprising at least one control unit and data transmission lines, in particular for a CAN bus system comprising at least one CAN controller and one CAN bus (CB), is characterized in that the individual switch elements are monolithically integrated. To prevent asymmetrical fluctuations of the CAN bus potentials, a current source (IS) produces a switching threshold independent of the operating voltage and temperature. The arrangement allows digital signals with high data rate to be processed, and the input inphase range extends above the supply voltage and below earth potential.
