Provided are a method and device for controlling a gain of a relay in an active DAS system, and relay machine. The method comprises the steps of: acquiring a downlink output power value of a remote terminal accessing an active DAS system, and acquiring a maximum uplink gain value of a relay machine in the active DAS system; combining the downlink output power value and the maximum uplink gain value to obtain an attenuation adjustment value required to be set for an uplink connection where the remote terminal is located; and setting up, according to the attenuation adjustment value, an adjustable attenuator in the uplink connection. The solution of the present invention is compatible with the remote terminals having different power levels, reduces complexity of a coverage solution, increases flexibility of network construction, and reduces a cost of the network construction.
