PURPOSE:To prevent the wasteful energization and to eliminate the deterioration of trouble by performing the self-diagnosis of the trouble of the load in an image forming apparatus and writing the diagnostic result in a non-volatile memory means and forming data permitting the operation of the load on the basis of the diagnostic result after the main power supply of the apparatus is made. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 21 is constituted of a main controller 22 controlling the whole of an image forming apparatus, a printing head controller 23 controlling a printing head, a fixing device 12, a motor 14, a fluorescent lamp 17 and a liquid crystal shutter 18. In this case, the CPU 26 of the main controller 22 performs the self-diagnosis of the trouble state of various loads 14, 17, 18 energized immediately after the main power supply of the apparatus is made in order to perform image forming processing. As a result, an alarm flag showing the abnormality of the loads is written in an EEPROM 27. After the main power supply of the apparatus is made, a safety flag permitting the operation of the loads is formed based on the alarm flag. By this constitution, the wasteful energization is prevented and the deterioration of trouble is eliminated. |
