An inline skate (100) includes at least one unidirectional wheel (2) substantially aligned with a plurality of substantially aligned main wheels (1). The unidirectional wheel (2) is provided with unidirectional bearing means (3) and bearing mounting means (4) which are adapted to allow the at least one unidirectional wheel (2) to rotate in a direction related to forward or backward motion of the skate only. In another embodiment a first unidirectional wheel (2) is provided in front of the main wheels (1) and rotates only in the direction related to forward motion of the skate (100A) and a second unidirectional wheel (10) is provided behind the main wheel (1) and rotates only in the direction related to backward motion of the skate (100A).
