PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine having an Ag ion generating device without unevenness in dissolution of an electrode and not having a removing hole of gas generated during electrolysis of Ag. SOLUTION: The washing machine has a rectangular Ag electrode 14 for generating Ag ions, an electrode support 19 supporting the Ag electrode 14, an Ag electrode case 18 for housing the electrode support 19, a substantially tubular Ag electrode cover 15 housing the Ag electrode 14, and a control means 5 for generating Ag ions from an Ag ion generating device 4. An inlet opening 16 for flowing in liquid and an outlet opening 17 for flowing out liquid are arranged in the side face lower part of the Ag electrode case 18 and the upper part of the Ag electrode cover 4 respectively in the Ag ion generating device 4, and the Ag electrode 14 is arranged with the longitudinal direction being vertical, so that there is no unevenness in the dissolution of the electrode and Ag ions and generated gas is fully discharged from the outlet opening because the Ag electrode 14 is completely submerged in liquid during water supply.
