PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection molding apparatus and method capable of freely controlling a generation position of a weld line and improving the strength and quality of a molded article.SOLUTION: An injection molding apparatus comprises: an injection unit having an injection plunger or screw for injecting a molten resin into a cavity of a mold; a movable gate actuator for relatively moving a gate part and the cavity of the mold when injecting the molten resin from the gate part into the cavity; and a control part for controlling the operation of the injection unit and the movable gate actuator. The control part is configured to control the relative position between the gate part and the cavity based on a detection signal relating to the position of the injection plunger or screw.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
