A half bearing 100 and a method of manufacture of a half bearing are described. The half bearing 100 comprises a bearing member 102 having a strong external backing layer of steel or bronze 104 and an internal bearing lining layer 106 of a suitable bearing alloy with an optional bearing overlay layer defining a concave substantially semi-cylindrical bearing surface 112 extending between first and second axial ends 110A, 110B of the half bearing 100. The concave bearing surface 112 is provided with at least first and second micro-profiled seal regions 108A, 108B at or adjacent to the first and second axial ends 110A, 110B. The first and second micro-profiled seal regions 108A, 108B project from the concave bearing surface 112 and extend at least partially circumferentially across the concave bearing surface 112. |
