PURPOSE:To make it possible to draw a high-quality image with excellent repeatability by providing a transfer layer containing thermally plastic resin on a base and limiting the average roughness at a center line on the surface of the transfer layer to a specific range. CONSTITUTION:A transfer sheet 1 consists of a base 3 and a transfer layer 2 provided on the former, and the transfer layer 2 contains thermally plastic resin. The sheet 1 is extruded in a molten state to the surface of the base 3 using a T die 8 when the sheet 1 is manufactured. Next the transfer layer 2 is allowed to pass through two pasting rolls A9, B10 with the average roughness of 0.5 to 2.5mum at the center line of the roll surface which comes in contact with the surface of the transfer layer, together with the base 3. In this way, the transfer layer 2 is pasted to the base 3, and the average roughness at the center line of the surface of the transfer layer which does not come in contact with the base, that is, the surface where an image is formed can be limited to 0.5 to 2.5mum. When ink is transferred to the surface where an image is drawn of the transfer layer from a melting-type thermal transfer ink ribbon, the contact area between the ink and the surface where an image is formed is controlled, and the dotted part where ink is not transferred originally is not subjected to the unnecessary transfer by the residual heat of a thermal head. |
