<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing poly pseudorotaxane which can easily collect a raw material polymer, and a method for recovering the raw material polymer. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing poly pseudorotaxane includes making an ammonium salt expressed by formula (I): (R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>2</SP>-N<SP>+</SP>H<SB>2</SB>-R<SP>3</SP>-X)-Y<SP>-</SP>(wherein R<SP>1</SP>is a group which is more bulky than a hollow part of a cyclic structure of a polymer; R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are independently a bivalent hydrocarbon group, respectively, a bivalent aromatic group, or an atomic group comprising them, and may include a hetero atom; X is a hydroxy group, a primary ammonium salt, or a carboxyl group; and Y<SP>-</SP>is a monovalent anion) penetrate the polymer which has two or more cyclic structures from an X side of the ammonium salt side.
