PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure an always stable fixing function by reducing the difference in temperature generated between a paper passing region and a non-paper passing region of an endless belt 10. SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus is provided with a fixing roller 2, a pressure roll 4 brought into press-contact with the fixing roller 2, belt supporting rollers 6 and 8 and the endless belt 10 wound between each belt supporting roller 6 and 8. A partial range on an outer periphery surface of the endless belt 10 is brought into press-contact with a partial region on the outer periphery surface of the endless belt and the belt supporting roller 6 is heated by a heating means 6H installed inside or outside the belt supporting roller 6. The belt supporting roller 8 is made of a hollow metal tube. The hollow tube is provided with a middle region with the same length in the axial direction as the maximum paper passing width and side regions each extending from the middle region in the axial direction to both sides and the thickness t1 in both the side regions is set to be thicker than the thickness t2 of the middle region.
