PURPOSE: An integrated vehicle monitoring system and a method for controlling the same are provided to obtain traffic information and security information using one local controlling device. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle detector(120) detects a specific point through which vehicles pass. The vehicle detector includes a first loop(122) and a second loop(124). An image taking unit(110) takes image with respect to the vehicles. A controlling unit(130) reads the license plate numbers of the vehicles by processing the taken images. The controlling unit controls the vehicle detector and the image taking unit. |
