PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas barrier container whose oxygen barrier property does not deteriorate even if a severe hydrothermal treatment such as a retort treatment is applied.SOLUTION: A gas barrier container is composed of a container body 1 and a lid material 4 produced by injection molding of a resin, and has the labels 2, 3 integrated at the same time as injection molding on both of a bottom 11 and a peripheral wall 12 of the container body. The label has a gas barrier layer including a composite structure formed by reaction of a polyvalent metal compound with a phosphorus compound. In the composite structure, M of polyvalent metal atoms and a phosphorus atom P are bonded by the covalent bond represented by M-O-P-O-M or M-O-(P-O-P)-O-M. Numerous phosphorus atoms P are coordinated around the metal atom M as a center and at the same time, numerous metal atoms M are coordinated around the phosphorus atoms P as a center. Thereby, the composite structure becomes a mesh-like dense structure to exert high gas barrier property, and is excellent in resistance to heat or water.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
