<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of transmission quality in a network system where an intensity modulated optical signal and a phase modulated optical signal coexist. <P>SOLUTION: The optical transmission apparatus for transmitting a wavelength multiplexed optical signal of an intensity modulated optical signal and a phase modulated optical signal through a transmission line is provided with: bit time difference application signal generation units 11, 12 for generating at least two optical signals with bit time differences which are different relatively, from the inputted wavelength multiplexed optical signal; and a wavelength multiplexed optical signal output unit 13 to which the at least two optical signals from the bit time difference application signal generation units 11, 12 are inputted and from which a wavelength multiplexed optical signal is generated and outputted to which the bit time difference is applied between the phase modulated optical signal and the intensity modulated optical signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
