A hook-and-loop fastener provided with a hollow woven part wherein engagement elements formed of engagement element yarns are formed on the surface of a base cloth composed of warp yarns, weft yarns and the engagement element yarns, said hook-and-loop fastener being characterized by satisfying the requirements 1) to 4). 1) The base cloth is provided with a hollow woven part formed of a double-layered fabric which consists of a front side woven part (2-1) and a back side woven part (2-2). 2) Weft yarns constituting the front side woven part (2-1) are connected to weft yarns constituting the back side woven part (2-2) to thereby form the hollow woven part. Alternatively, weft yarns or warp yarns, which constitute a single-layered woven part (3) in a woven part other than the hollow woven part, are divided into yarns constituting the front side woven part (2-1) and yarns constituting the back side woven part (2-2) to thereby form the hollow woven part. 3) Engaging elements (4-1) are provided on the external surface of the front side woven part (2-1) of the hollow woven part. 4) The weft yarns contain a hot melting fiber and the engagement element yarns are fixed to the base cloth by the hot melting fiber. |
