PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 1, 3-propane diol by continuous fermentation with maintaining stable and high productivity for a long period of time under a simple operation condition. SOLUTION: In the continuous fermentation method in which a culture solution is separated into a filtrate and an unfiltrate by separation membrane, 1, 3-propane diol, which is an objective fermented product, is recovered from the filtrate, while the unfiltrate is held in or refluxed to the culture solution, it is possible to remarkably improve the productivity of 1, 3-propane diol by fermentation stably at low cost by using a porous membrane hardly clogged with having high permeability and a high cell inhibition rate and carrying out the filtration treatment by low intermembrane pressure difference.
