PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a switching control properly in a video switching device to prevent output of a clumsy video by adjusting the output timing of a control signal to be used for controlling material equipment and the output switching timing of a video signal. SOLUTION: The video switching device comprises a tally output processing portion 7 and a matrix portion 5. The tally output processing portion 7 sends out a first control signal e to material equipment 2 to which the on-air signal will be switched according to the input operation, and sends out a second control signal d to material equipment 1 from which the on-air signal will be switched when a predetermined period of time has passed since the first control signal e was sent out. The matrix portion 5 switches the on-air video c from a video signal a of the material equipment 1 to a video signal b of the material equipment 2 when the predetermined period of time has passed since the first control signal e was sent out.
