The invention relates to a filter system (2) for an aqueous urea solution. A bimetal switch (18) is provided for controlling a heating element (8) of the filter system (2). The bimetal switch (2) is arranged in a switch housing (12) of a switch device (10). A measuring protrusion (14) of the switch housing (12) penetrates a housing interior (6) of a housing (4) of the filter system (2) at a distance from the heating element (8), preferably at a radial distance from the heating element. A filter element (26) with an advantageously annular filter medium (28) is preferably arranged in the housing interior (6), and the bimetal switch (18) is preferably designed as a snap switch with two discrete temperature-dependent switch positions of a bimetal element.
