<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric key system and a communication unit which can determine permission/non-permission for various vehicle's operations such as door lock and unlock or starting of an engine by other communication terminal irrespective of possession or non-possession of the dedicated key, and wherein a state separately preparing the communication terminal for the purpose hardly occurs even if such structure is adopted, and can ensure security for theft of a vehicle even though various vehicle's operations are admitted by the communication terminal. <P>SOLUTION: A non-contact IC card communication system 16 using a non-contact IC card communication technique called Felica (R) is mounted on the vehicle 1. If a compound ID key having a portable key ID code and its expiration date is transmitted from a cellular phone 18 incorporating a communication circuit 19 corresponding to the Felica (R), an ID checking between a reader/writer 17 and the cellular phone 18 is effected, and the portable key ID code of the communication circuit 19 is within the expiration date, an immobilization lock state by the immobilizer function is released, and an engine can be started. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
