This hand dryer is provided with: a blow-out port (10) for blowing out an air current towards a drying space (3), i.e. a space which is open at the front and left and right sides, and into and from which hands can be freely inserted and withdrawn; and an air-flow-direction changing part (4b) for changing the direction of the air current blown out downwards from the blow-out port (10) in the vertical direction. The air-flow-direction changing part (4b) is positioned so as to be shifted further rearward in the front-rear direction than the extended position of the blow-out port (10) in the blow-out direction. When the air current is being blown out downwards from the blow-out port (10) in the vertical direction, the air-flow-direction changing part (4b) and the blow-out port (10) do not directly face each other. |
