1. A method of standardizing a quantitative mass spectrometric assay for a peptide analyte in a sample, comprising:
adding a known amount of a SIS version of said analyte to a known amount of said sample, to form a standardized sample, measuring by mass spectrometry the relative amounts of said peptide analyte and said SIS version of said analyte in said standardized sample, and comparing the amount of said peptide analyte to the amount of said SIS version of said analyte, wherein said known amount of said SIS version of said analyte corresponds to the analyte amount at a pre -determined test evaluation threshold.
