<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress biased accumulation of particulates and to improve the collecting efficiency and the filter regeneration efficiency in a particulate filter for collecting particulates in exhaust gas of an engine. <P>SOLUTION: In a filter carrier 20 in which a plurality of cells 21, ... 21 extending in the flow direction of exhaust gas are disposed in parallel, middle-blocked cells 21a each provided with a mesh shield at the middle part and exit-blocked cells 21b each provided with a mesh shield at an exit side opening are disposed alternately, adjacent to each other. The filter carrier 20 is equipped with a plug plate 30 for forming a first condition for opening entrance side openings of the middle-blocked cells 21a and closing the entrance side openings of the exit-blocked cells 21b, and a second condition for closing the entrance side openings of the middle-blocked cells 21 and opening the entrance side openings of the exit-blocked cells 21b by being slidably pressure-welded to an upstream side end face of the carrier 20 for alternately blocking the entrance side openings of the adjacent cells. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
