1. A method for operating an engine and a motor/generator of a parallel hybrid vehicle in which the motor/generator is provided between the engine and a transmission, the method comprising:
determining a fuel consumption efficiency of the engine and establishing an operating range of the engine in which a ratio of fuel-consumption efficiency of the engine to maximum fuel-consumption efficiency of the engine is higher than or equal to 95%, setting a lower-speed part that is less than 2500 rpm within the operating range of the engine in which the ratio of fuel-consumption efficiency of the engine to maximum fuel-consumption efficiency of the engine is higher than or equal to 95%; and controlling operation of the engine and the motor/generator with a controller such that a rotation speed at a maximum point of power generation efficiency of the motor/generator is within a rotation speed range corresponding to the lower-speed part of the operating range in which a ratio of fuel-consumption efficiency of the engine to maximum fuel-consumption efficiency of the engine is higher than or equal to 95%. |
