Separator for roller bearing wire cage

A separator 6 is designed for separating rollers 5 in a roller bearing (1 figure 1) having a cage (4 figure 1). The separator has a substantially elongate body provided with at least two contact surfaces (61 figure 8) for contacting respective rollers, snap fittings (62 figure 5) for detachably coupling with the cage (4 figure 1), and flanges 64 for containing lubricant between the rollers. At least one flange is funnel shaped so as to collect lubricant from a top end surface of the rollers 5 and to urge the collected lubricant towards a cylindrical surface 51 of the rollers. The separator may be made from a polymeric material such as nylon or polyethylene by injection moulding or 3D-printing.
