PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a carbon nanofiber dispersion by which a more stable and better dispersion of carbon nanofibers is efficiently produced. SOLUTION: The method for producing the carbon nanofiber dispersion is a method for producing a carbon nanofiber dispersion by dispersing a carbon nanofiber aggregate in an aqueous solution containing an amphiphilic substance, wherein the pH of the dispersion in the step of dispersing the carbon nanofibers is kept at 4.0-8.0.
