PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silencing device wherein vibration of a bottomed cylindrical wall constituting a side-branch type silencer is restrained from coming out to the outside of a Helmholtz's silencer as radiation noise, and the volume of the resonance chamber of the Helmholtz's silencer is increased. SOLUTION: The silencing device includes (a) the Helmholtz's silencer 20 and (b) a side-branch silencer 30. (a) The silencer 20 comprises the resonance chamber 20a which comprises a space surrounded by a suction duct-forming wall 21 partly forming an intake duct 40 and a cut-off wall 22 for cutting off the atmosphere, and a communication part 20b which is constituted by providing a communication pipe 23, which allows the inside of the suction duct 40 to communicate with the resonance chamber 20a, is extended from the intake duct-forming wall 21 into the inside of the resonance chamber 20a. (b) The side-branch silencer 30 is built up of the bottomed cylindrical wall 31 protruding from the intake duct-forming wall 21 into the inside of the resonance chamber 20a.
