PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a faucet to be reliably mounted on a washstand and a sink in a short time by simple operations conducted only from an upper part of a top board. SOLUTION: The mounting device for the faucet allows a mounting member C to be mounted on a mounting hole B of the top board A from the upper part so as to fix a faucet body 1 to the mounting member C. The mounting member C is composed of a base 8 which has such a cylindrical shape as to be fitted into a space part 6 of the faucet body 1 and is disposed in the mounting hole B from the upper part, a bolt 14 which is inserted into an inserting hole 10 pierced into a peripheral part 9 of the base 8 and which is equipped with an external thread part 16 protruding to a lower part of the mounting hole B, a latch plate 18 where the first long hole 21, into which the thread part 16 of the bolt 14 is inserted, is pierced in a decentered position and which is held at a slant between the bolt 14 and a nut 24 screwed from a lower part of the bolt 14, so as to clamp the top board A from a lower part, and a stopper 17 which is fixed to the base 8 in parallel with the bolt 14 and inserted into the second long hole 21a pierced in parallel with the long hole 21 of the latch plate 18.
