PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of components and to prevent operation sound from being generated by preventing reverse rotation of a spool. SOLUTION: Ratchet gears 13 are formed on one end of each of spools 3, 4, respectively. Ratchet sections 34a, 34b to be engaged with the ratchet gears 13 on the spools 3, 4, respectively are formed on a cartridge body 5, and resilient engagement pieces 33a, 33b having formed thereon pressure receptive sections 35a, 35b to be respectively pressed by pressurizing sections 42a, 42b provided on a thermal transfer printer are integrally formed on the cartridge body 5. When cartridge body 5 is mounted on the thermal transfer printer, the pressure receptive sections 35a, 35b are pressed by the pressurizing sections 42a, 42b provided on the thermal transfer printer, and then the engagement between the ratchet gears 13, 13 of the spools 3, 4 and the ratchet sections 34a, 34b is released so that the spools 3, 4 become rotatable in the cartridge body 5.
