Disclosed are a communication method, a network device, a user equipment, and a communication system. The communication method comprises: a network device determines to allocate a first auxiliary cell set for a user equipment (UE); the network device transmits first configuration indication information to the UE, where the first configuration indication information is used for indicating at least one among the following configurations: uplink control information related to cells in the first auxiliary cell set is transmitted via a physical uplink control channel of a first cell, where the first cell belongs to a second auxiliary cell set; and, data transmission on at least one cell in the first auxiliary cell set is processed by a layer-two functional entity located in the second auxiliary cell set. The disclosed communication method allows the complexity of the UE to be reduced. |
