PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire which can enhance the draining performance without changing the tread pattern within the tread of tire (without impairing the steering stability and anti-abrasiveness). SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire 10 is configured so that a plurality of grooves 30 extending in the circumferential direction at a certain pitch are formed in a buttress part 20 ranging from the tread end A in the tire width direction to the max. width position of the tire. Each groove 30 is furnished with a first groove part 30A inclined at the angleαto the car advancing direction (Arrow L) with respect to the tire radial direction on the side view of the tire rotational axis direction and a second groove part 30B inclined at the angleΒ(Β>α). When the car equipped with tires 10 of described sort runs on a puddle at a high speed, the water ahead of the tread surface is drained sideways by the treading pressure. Because the grooves 30 are formed in the draining direction (streamline), the draining speed (water flow speed) becomes high so that a hydroplaining phenomenon is not likely to occur. |
