A high gear ratio conical gear produced by the single-indexing method has a number of pinion gear teeth from (1) to (4) with an axial offset between the rotational axes of the pinion gear and the ring gear, the pinion gear being designed as a conical worm produced by a hobbing method, while the ring gear teeth are shaped. According to the invention, the diameter of the pinion gear core at the heel corresponds to at least twice the tooth height at the heel, and an undercut separates the pinion gear teeth and their connection to the bearing shoulder or pinion gear shaft.
