<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus of processing an image which can duplicate a target color faithfully without causing a trouble at the time of outputting other job from a printer since a printer profile itself is not rewritten. <P>SOLUTION: When the target color is set from a client 3, a front end server 1 and a printer engine 2 form color patch data of device non-depending color according to the target color by a color patch formation part 17, a color management processor 18 converts it into device color patch data using a printer profile, and an output unit 24 outputs transformation data from a printer, and forms a device color patch chart. Then, the colorimetry of the charge is performed by a color sensor 26. A device color estimator 20 presumes a device color from a colorimetry result.
