PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas barrier laminate excellent in bonding strength or coating film strength and oxygen barrier properties under a high humidity condition, and in which a metal detector can be used and capable of being discarded as paper. SOLUTION: In the gas barrier laminate constituted by providing a gas barrier layer containing a water soluble polymer, an inorganic laminar compound and a synthetic resin on a paper support, the inorganic laminar compound is 10-150 pts.mass and the synthetic resin is 5-100 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the water soluble polymer. Further, a cationic compound is contained in the gas barrier layer and the amount of the cationic compound is 1-50 pts.mass with respect to 100 pts.mass of the water soluble polymer.
