PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for an alkaline battery, having a high volume energy density and capable of suppressing the lowering of discharge capacity.SOLUTION: An electrode for an alkaline battery includes a current collector and an active material layer in contact with the current collector. The active material layer includes an alloy layer comprising a hydrogen absorbing alloy that is not at least powder, and an active layer covering at least a part of a surface of the alloy layer. The active layer has a higher reaction activity to a water electrolysis reaction than the hydrogen absorbing alloy constituting the alloy layer. The surface of the active material layer has an area where the reaction activity is relatively high and an area where the reaction activity is relatively low.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
