PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound insulation type engine generator capable of delaying occurrence of overheat by improving cooling water cooling efficiency at a radiator even when ambient temperature rises with caused by fire and extending electricity supply to a fire-fighting load such as a hydrant pump. SOLUTION: In the sound insulating type engine generator storing a water cooling diesel engine 11 and a generator 12 driven by the water cooled engine in a box body 14, and provided with a suction duct 19 introducing outside air sucked from a suction port 18 into the box body and an exhaust duct 21 exhausting heated air passing through the radiator 23 to an outside of the box body from an exhaust port 20, an emergency suction port shutter 25 and an emergency exhaust shutter 26 are provided on the box body as a suction and an exhaust means for supplying cooling air to the radiator without making the same passing through the suction duct and the exhaust duct, and those emergency shutters are opened to increase cooling air in an emergency.
