PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video reception terminal for informing a viewer about the cause of image quality deterioration and about the interruption in display, when receiving a television video signal which utilizes best-effort type communication network. SOLUTION: An RTP-processing section 32 of a receiver side unit 31 of the video reception terminal 40 detects a communication fault. An error-processing section 34 notified with detection of error due to the communication fault transmits a display instruction to a communication state display section 35, and the communication state display section 35 lights up a state display lamp 38 for displaying the communication state to indicate the occurrence of the communication abnormality.
