The method involves transferring endoscopic image by an endoscope (16), which is inserted into a body of a patient (14). An actual three-dimensional image is produced in proximity to an endoscopic tip by a tomographical imaging device (2). A position of the endoscopic tip is automatically determined in a coordinate system of the imaging device by using two-dimensional x-ray images. A three dimensional x-ray image is produced as the actual three-dimensional image by an x-ray device. An independent claim is also included for a device for supporting an endoscopic medical procedure.
