<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover performance of an exhaust emission control device while preventing fuel from passing through the exhaust emission control device. <P>SOLUTION: When performance of the exhaust emission control device is recovered while quantity of intake air of an internal combustion engine increases (S101, S103), an upper limit value is established in additional quantity of fuel added by a fuel addition valve provided in an exhaust passage (S104). When target fuel supply quantity to be supplied to the exhaust emission control device is greater than the upper limit value (S105), fuel of the upper limit value quantity is added by fuel addition valve and fuel of shortage quantity is injected by an auxiliary fuel injection of the internal combustion engine (S110, S111, S112). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
