PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device with small height, in which an optical waveguide including a diffraction grating is optically connected to an optical fiber.SOLUTION: The optical device includes a first optical waveguide substrate 420, a second optical waveguide substrate 460 bonded onto the first optical waveguide substrate 420, and an optical fiber 500 optically connected to the second optical waveguide substrate 460. The first optical waveguide substrate 420 includes an optical waveguide 422 provided with a diffraction grating 422b. The second optical waveguide substrate 460 includes an optical waveguide 462 optically connected to the diffraction grating 422b of the first optical waveguide substrate 420, and a guide groove 466 provided at an end of the optical waveguide 462. The optical fiber 500 is provided along a bottom surface 466a of the guide groove 466 of the second optical waveguide substrate 460, and is optically connected to the optical waveguide 462 of the second optical waveguide substrate 460.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
