PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper which is put on and off without taking off all clothes, is pulled up and down with the diaper put on, and is excellent in terms of the fit as the disposable diaper is compatible with wearers with various body types. SOLUTION: The disposable diaper 1 is equipped with an absorber 22, a top sheet 18, a back sheet 20, at least one securing member 13 which extends from each of right and left side edges 6a, 6b on a back body 6, regions to be secured which are provided in the neighborhood of the right and left side edges of a front body 2 for securing the right and left securing members 13, and an expanding and contracting material 42 around an abdomen which is arranged circumferentially along of the abdomen on the back body 2 in a manner that the long expanding and contracting material consisting of rubber, showing tensile stress equal to or less than 40 gf in the elongation of 300% in the outward trip of the second round trip when being expanded and contracted repeatedly in a range of a rate of elongation between 100% and 500%, is arranged in a range of the rate of elongation between 300% and 500% in a region not overlapping with an arranging region of the absorber 22.
