The cassette has a base plate with surrounding walls and a lid. The base plate has protruding stems for holding the envelopes of discs or tape rolls. The two opposite walls have indentations for the stoping bar and the third wall has an indentation with a strip for gripping. An insert made of high grade paper or plastics is provided to cover all inside walls and the lid and acts as a hinge to the lid. The lid has a grip hole and a time run out scale. The side walls protrude 0.5-1 M/M beyond the base and the lid. The corners built up to facilitate stacking. The body of the cassette is made of shock proof material and is sprayed to form a scratch proof, antistatic film.
