PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily reform a shape of a collapsed coil.SOLUTION: A coil insertion device 30 for inserting a coil C which is wound in a hot rolling step into a mandrel 21 of a coiler 20 in a next step, comprises: a coil car 16 for mounting the coil C and transporting in a state in which the coil C which is deformed in a laterally long state is rotated and formed into a vertically long state; a depression mechanism 31 for depressing an outer peripheral face of the coil C on the coil car 16 from an upper side, and molding the coil C so as to have predetermined inner diameter into which the mandrel 21 is inserted; a load measurement part 35 for measuring a depression load of the depression mechanism 31; a displacement measurement part 36 for measuring an inner diameter displacement amount of the coil C; and a control part 37 for controlling the depression mechanism 31.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
